HR Support Pack Schemas

Changes to standard payroll Schemas, Functions, Rules and Operations are delivered in SAP support packs. LiveCompare converts SAP payroll types to LiveCompare types. The following are some examples:

  • SAP Schema = PSCC, LiveCompare = HRSC

  • SAP Function = PFCS, LiveCompare = HRFU

  • SAP Rule = PCYC, LiveCompare = HRRU

  • SAP Operation = POCS, LiveCompare = HROP

The purpose of the HR Support Pack Schemas workflow is to provide the paths from the changing objects to all top-level schemas impacted by those changes. The results are used to generate an Excel report which has the following columns:

Column Description
Type The type of an object from the analyzed HR Support Pack or transport.
Name The name of the object.
Parent Type The type of an object that uses the HR Support pack or transport object.
Parent Name The search depth at which the object was found.
Depth The search depth at which the object was found.
Transport The name the HR Support Pack or transport that contains the analyzed object.
Description The description of the found object.

If a support pack has not been applied to the Source SAP system, it must be disassembled before it can be analyzed using the HR Support Pack Schemas workflow. This can be done by running the SAINT transaction and selecting Disassemble OCS Package from the Utilities menu. Alternatively, it may be disassembled using the Package Disassembler app.

Parallel impact analysis

You can run the HR Support Pack Schemas workflow in parallel with other impact analysis apps and workflows.

Create RFC Destinations

Before you begin, you will need to create an RFC Destination for the SAP system you wish to analyze. The SAP account associated with the RFC Destination requires sufficient authorizations to read the HRPY_RGDIR, in addition to the default authorizations provided with LiveCompare. This may be set in the S_TABU_NAM authorization, using the ACTVT 03 (read), and TABLE HRPY_RGDIR.

Prepare the workflow

To prepare the HR Support Pack Schemas workflow, drag its workflow template from the Templates > Human Resources folder into your own workspace, and modify the workflow as follows:

To specify the system to analyze:

  1. Select the System 1 parameter and choose Edit RFC Destination from its context menu to display the RFC Destination dialog.

  2. Select the RFC Destination for the system to analyze, then click Save.

To specify which Support Packs to analyze:

  1. Select the Transport Selections parameter and choose Edit Table from its context menu to display the Table Editor dialog.

  2. The table has the following columns:

Column Description
SELNAME This column should be set to SPPK.
KIND KIND This column should be set to S.
SIGN If this column is set to I the transport specification will be included in the analysis. If the column is set to E, the transport specification will be excluded. The E option should only be used if the table also has a row which uses the I option.
OPTION The comparison operator to use: One of EQ, GT, GE, LT, LE, BT or CP. See the Select List parameters help topic for details.
LOW The low comparison value.
HIGH If the BT (Between) operator is used, this column refers to the ‘high’ comparison value.
  1. Modify the table so that it contains specifications for the Support Packs to be analyzed, then click Save.

Click Save tool button. to save the workflow.

Run the workflow

To run the HR Support Pack Schemas workflow, click the Run tool button. toolbar button, choose Run Now from the diagram’s context menu, or select F5. The currently running workflow action is marked with an animated display.
